Exploration Day For Kids

July 14, 2009

Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park
Saturday, July 18th 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

exploration-day-for-kids1The Department of Environmental Protection’s Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month. Maclay Gardens invites kids ages 5 to 12 to enjoy a day of exploration in the park. As we investigate the buildings and gardens, we will learn about the Maclay family children and how different life was in their day. The kids will tour the Maclay House and learn about the activities the Maclay children did, the animals they had and the chores they may have had to do. We will make believe we are living in the days of the Maclay family; doing, seeing and hearing the things they might have. Kids will use their imaginations to learn about history, the Maclay family and the park.

Fees: Program is free with paid park admission.

Contact: (850) 487-4556
